The County of Newaygo

Mother Nature, spreading beauty,
Was more than generous with her bounty,
When she lavished, without stinting,
The splenders of Newaygo County.

Breeze kissed lakes and sparkling rivers,
Reflecting clouds in azure skies,
While beneath, game fish are darting,
Bass and trout of record size.

Timbered shores protecting wildlife,
Partridge, squirrels, the whitetaled deer,
While aloft, in swaying treetops,
Songs of bird drift to the ear.

A land of pleasure and enjoyement,
Nature, at her best, one sees.
Bringing forth the truth to ponder,
That only God, makes things like these.
